Live Performance by Giorgio Ferrero and Rodolfo Mongitore

Thermocene Live is an audiovisual performance by Giorgio Ferrero and Rodolfo Mongitore (Mybosswas), transforming environmental data, radio transmissions, field recordings and moving images into a synchronized visual and sonic composition.

Developed from research conducted within two remote bivouacs located nearly 3,000 metres above sea level in the Piedmont Alps, the performance draws on signals captured from the surrounding environment: satellite communications, electromagnetic interferences, encrypted transmissions, atmospheric data and sounds travelling across the mountain landscape.

Performed live, Thermocene unfolds as a contemporary symphony where technology becomes both instrument and subject. Sound and image merge to reveal the invisible networks connecting even the most remote territories to global systems of communication, extraction and control.

Through an immersive audiovisual experience, the performance invites audiences to reconsider the idea of wilderness and to reflect on a world in which human presence extends far beyond what can be seen. Rather than imagining a return to an untouched nature, Thermocene explores the emergence of a new collective condition in which humans, technologies and ecosystems are inextricably intertwined.
